Street Education

A Programme to Educate Street Children in the World

“Child is the father of man” Once a great educationist said. Each and every child who is born on this earth has a right for education just, we all talk about the child’s right, yet we never poke deep in the matter? Why do children lose their rights to educate, who are the children who are the denied of this privilege? Why do they become drop outs? Is there any remedy to wipe out this situation? Who is responsible for it? Where do they go? All these questions can be raised only rhetorically.

Number of factors prevailing in our society are partly contributed to increase the number of street children in this little island. It is very pathetic to see, crucial situations such as parental death, long term illnesses, deprivation of love and kindness, insecurity and frustration. These unhealthy situations are persuaded them to leave their homes in search of better living or odd jobs. So automatically they too come under the category of homeless children. Specially the children of broken homes have no particular aim or ambition.
Also the complicated situations in certain areas of the country have resulted greatly for the deprivation of education of the child. Migrating families to the city aimlessly. This situation goes from bad to worse. This increased the rate of child neglect child abuse, school dropouts and run away children among the most less privileged community.
So we can expect something worthwhile contribution from this type of children to the society? Even then these innocent creatures must be educated in a school. They too are the owners of free education. If we try hard, this effort may be successful in to a certain extent, with the tenderness of the teachers-receivers may get inspired.

There may be obstinate children or “tough nuts” among them. If they are encouraged to stay after school for an extra bit of learning perhaps it would be more appealing for the them to break their monotony. Children from broken families are very delicate and flimsy. They must be handled with care as they are easily broken.
Establishing street schools is also an effectively remedy for this sorrowful situation. Every bird likes to be in its own nest. If they are indifferent to seek the education, it is no wonder lessons should go to them to be served.
These school may be more appealing to them when sitting side by side with their peer group. This might be enhanced for them to obtain a bit about the society. For them, it is also a certain study to get rid of evils and corruptions. If anyone can supply them with a bit of assistance to adjust their crooked lives how fortunate these street children are?
These innocent flowers must not let to be down-trodden or withered untimely as they too are human beings who are gazing to take over the future of our world.
